How To Get Vintage Inspired Curls

I finally got a video tutorial up after months (almost a whole year!) of not doing any. I really have been meaning to get one up for quite some time and am hoping to do them more frequently. I have been doing these ‘vintage inspired curls’ since I had them done for our wedding. It’s a little different than the way I had been curling my hair before and the results are more romantic and old hollywood glamour-esque. My red lipstick at the end is Giorgio Armani in “Laque De Chine” and you can get it here. I also have the lipstick version and it’s one of my favorites.

Now, my question for you is…what tutorials would you like to see next? XO

Your are beautiful and so is your hair! Thanks for sharing this tutorial, I’ve been curious how to get those Veronica Lake-like curls. I love any tutorials on how you add braids to your hair and maybe a video on your everyday hair routine from shampoo to styling would be fun.

Just watched your tutorial, so glad you’re doing videos again :) I’d love to see more make-up tutorials, maybe styling videos (like different ways to style a certain skirt), or a video featuring a few fun outfit ideas (maybe for Valentine’s Day because that is coming up!) :)

What a great tutorial! I’m always envious of girls who can curl their hair and have it look like that. My hair is naturally curly, so it’s hard for me to get such smooth curls!

Julia, this was a great tutorial! I have been seeing this look everywhere and wondering how to be recreate it. Maybe you could do some more tutorials on up-dos? Especially something like from this post http://galmeetsglam.com/2013/01/timeless-feminine-chic/

I feel like I always wear my hair down straight or with curls. I am looking for some more variety. Just a suggestion!
Also, so exciting you got to meet Tory Burch!

You look stunning as always! I really wish I could recreate this look, but I can never get that technique of pulling the curling iron down several times on the same strand of hair to work. I don’t know how you do it so effortlessly but I just end up pulling my hair or getting it tangled up. That lipstick also looks amazing on you!

Great tutorial! I definetely need to try this. hopefully i can do it without getting my hair stuck around the clasp thingy on the curling iron. i seem to be inept at using them but i’m sure i can get the hang of it with some practice :)
