Hawaiian Night

Getting the perfect instagram shot…of this….

Minkpink Top (on sale for $20!), Zara Skirt, Aquazzura Heels, Heidi Merrick Clutch c/o, Loren Hope Bracelet c/o, NARS “Heat Wave” Lipstick

Thomas and I arrived to Kauai on Saturday afternoon and have been on cloud 9 ever since. We’re staying at the St. Regis Princeville Resort, which is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever stayed. Everything is so picturesque and unbelievably beautiful, rainbows and butterflies included. Kauai has officially stolen my heart and I can’t wait to explore more of the island this week. Sunday night, we headed to Postcards Cafe for dinner (wearing this outfit) and it was just as delicious as everyone has said! They have a few vegan/gluten free options, which can usually be tricky to find while on vacation.  If you’ve ever been to Kauai, we would love any recommendations of things to do/where to eat/what to see!

This outfit is amazing on you!!! So flattering! One of my all time faves!

Cara September 16, 2013 at 6:20 pm

Just seeing that one instagram shot makes me miss our wedding in Maui just that much more. Your look is so fresh and perfect for the islands!

I would HIGHLY recommend the Kauai Backcountry Tubing Adventure. You float gently down open canals in an inner-tube, through several tunnels and at the end, enjoy a picnic lunch near a natural swimming hole. It’s simply breathtaking and quite fun!

Mel September 16, 2013 at 6:54 pm

Love this look Julia! Also, your hair is looking great these days :)

Aileen September 16, 2013 at 6:55 pm

Beautiful outfit and pictures! Try out Bar-Acuda in Hanalei! It has a really cool atmosphere, delicious drinks, and great tapas! It’s about 10 min from the St. Regis.

Oksana September 16, 2013 at 7:14 pm

You look so cute! Love the print mixing, and the blue+white combo is perfect for vacation, especially with a bold lip! Hope you’re having the time of your life! I don’t know how you find the time to blog too! XOXO

Bhreagh September 16, 2013 at 7:17 pm

LOVE that skirt! The whole outfit is so flattering!

Alicia Clark September 16, 2013 at 7:21 pm

I am obsessed with that white skirt! Also Kauai is one of my favorite places. I love Hanalei which is just down from Princeville and a wonderful restaurant there is the Hanalei Dolphin restaurant. One of my go-to’s! Enjoy

Hey Julia!

What do you do with your clothes you no longer wear?

I recently joined Poshmark- you can buy/sell designer clothes- its addicting. I thought of all my favorite bloggers and how I would love to see your closets! I know you would do well!

Here is a link to My Closet so you can check out the site-

Enjoy your vacation!! Looks lovely!

Stephanie September 16, 2013 at 9:56 pm

I don’t undersrtand how two barely 20-somethings can live the lifestyle that you do and stay in a super expensive hotel like this. Those rooms are 500 plus bucks a night! Not even my parents travel like that! Also, Hawaii is super duper casual…nobody wears high heels. Didn’t you feel out of place?

Julie September 16, 2013 at 11:58 pm

Why do you have to understand? She clearly does well for herself and if her husband does too they should be allowed to enjoy their earnings. Plus it wouldn’t be a very interesting fashion blog if she always made sure her outfits weren’t “out of place”.

Iris September 17, 2013 at 6:27 am

You don’t wear a bikini on 5th avenue, and you don’t wear heels and dress up in hawaii. If this were a good fashion blog she would make sure that every picture wasn’t out of place. And she wouldn’t delete every coment that was not a compliment. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could all edit our lives so we only hear the good about ourselves and delete the bad? She needs to get real.

Julie September 18, 2013 at 4:36 am

Lol a bikini on 5th avenue, sure that might be inappropriate. Heels in Hawaii is hardly comparable. If you’re a t-shirt and jeans gal (which is fine) and find her and her outfits ridiculous, then why are you even bothering to go on her site? Is it just to write mocking comments? You come off as a mean girl as well as someone who doesn’t appreciate or understand someone taking fashion risks, which again makes me question why you’d even look at a fashion blog. Inspiration tends to come from things that are outside the norm (though again, heels in Hawaii doesn’t quite qualify as “outside the norm” in my opinion). Relax…

irene September 17, 2013 at 12:42 am

Haters going to hate, lol! If you don’t like what you see, then why bother looking?

Ell September 17, 2013 at 4:11 am

Born into money. That’s life!

Iris September 17, 2013 at 6:21 am

Have to agree, all of these pictures are so plastic, nobody wears heels in hawaii! Or dresses, it’s time to kick it back with tee shirts and sandals. She looks out of place because she is. San Francisco marina people laugh about this couple.

Kathy September 17, 2013 at 6:42 pm

Didn’t your mother teach you that if you have nothing nice to say, then don’t say anything at all? It is obvious that jealously is involved in these non-constructive, purposely mean comments, boarding on bullying. It is also obvious that those writing these must not be very successful themselves. And with this type of attitude, they won’t be in business in the fashion world for much longer. By the way, we know who you are:)

Kalena September 18, 2013 at 12:47 am

Have any of you been to Hawai’i?? I live on Maui and girls like to dress up and look cute there too! Way to stereotype people!! And if you don’t like her look or what she’s doing then get off her website! You’re the fake “plastic” person hiding behind a username.
Grow up!

Julia, loving the look and how you represent the ‘aina!

Melissa Rosenkilde September 16, 2013 at 10:15 pm

I love this outfit! Especially the print mix of the bag and top. Kauai seems to suit you!

Beth September 16, 2013 at 10:22 pm

Great outfit for Kauai!! We spent our honeymoon there and we didn’t want to leave. Have the hotel make you a picnic and choose a beach to spend the day, there tons of private beaches. We also did a helicopter ride with Blue Hawaii and it was amazing. Amazing spa at the Grand Hyatt, don’t have to be a guest anyone can go. Enjoy every minute, I love your blog!

Brittany September 16, 2013 at 11:45 pm

These pictures are so pretty Julia! I am loving the cropped top style and that skirt goes perfect with yours!

xo Brittany

Take the open door helicopter. If you only do one thing in Kauai that has to be it. Hiking some trails is also an amazing experience. The road from the canyon towards the Napali coast (where the road ends) has the most beautiful scenery. Also seeing the Napali coast from the water is something that needs to be done. There are several sunset sails. That way you can see Kauai from the air, land and water. My favorite beach was tunnel’s beach. Close to your hotel. Have fun!!!

Ashleigh September 20, 2013 at 3:07 am

I couldn’t agree more! The open door helicopter tour was by far the best money we spent in Hawaii. No matter what you do, you must do this. STUNNING views. Bring your camera with lots of memory. ENJOY!!

I’m not real fond of crop tops but you definitely can pull it off. I must say I do love your lipstick. It’s gorgeous! And I am so jealous that you are in Hawaii. I have always wanted to visit there.

Margaret Ybarra September 17, 2013 at 12:53 am

Just a little jealous of your fabulous vacation views! You look absolutely adorable as usual. Enjoy your time off!

Lovely outfit, the top is sweet and what a bargain!

Grace September 17, 2013 at 1:22 am

This is such an adorable outfit! I definitely think the longer skirt makes the crop top look classy.

Such a cute look! And I love your nail color.

Ashley Elizabeth September 17, 2013 at 6:05 pm

You have to go to the Fish Market! It’s a hidden gem, but has the most amazing fish tabos and tuna wrap.

Jillian September 17, 2013 at 6:42 pm

We went to Kuaui for our honeymoon last year and stayed at the St. Regis in Princeville. I absolutely love Kuaui, it definitely stole my heart. We loved the Hanelei Gourmet in the old school house building. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was relaxed and casual. Enjoy your trip!

Rachel September 18, 2013 at 6:42 pm

Definitely one of my favorite outfits ever! I LOVE the heels, skirt, crop top, everything :) You look stunning, just as beautiful as the scenery!
