Finding products that I really love and see results from helped me be really consistent with my beauty regimen. I’m probably the most diligent with my skin care routine and hardly ever miss a step. I haven’t always had the best skin care practices, but over the past two years, I’ve found a few products that have changed my skin completely and I’ve stuck to it since. One line that I absolutely love and was only introduced to back in August is Arcona. I have yet to try a product from this line that doesn’t work or that I’m not hooked to. My favorites are the Triad Pads (I use them as a toner after I wash my face) and the AM/PM Acne lotion. I have clear skin, but every once in a while have breakouts and this stuff helps prevent that and treat problem areas.
I’m the most low key on my hair. I think the less you do, the better. For the most part, I try and always let my hair air dry. Since I have naturally really straight hair, it makes it a whole lot easier. The few products I do love are from Kerestase and Jose Maran (I use the argan oil on my skin and nails, too). For styling, I always use my Hot Tools 1 1/4 inch barrel curling iron and Aveda’s “Air Control” hairspray. I also take Biotin a few days a week to help with hair growth.
My go-to body products are very slim, but always stay the same (except for my perfume which I switch up all the time, but Diptyque’s Vetyverio is my all time fave). I do take a probiotic and digestive enzyme in the morning and before dinner, which I’ve found to really work. I learned about both from Kim Snyder’s The Beauty Detox Solution, a book I found so helpful in understanding our digestive systems and how our bodies interact with foods.
I’m so glad you mentioned probiotics and digestive enzymes! I make my own kefir, but when I don’t have it I buy bottled probiotics (either pill or liquid). Honestly, though I really like making kefir lol. I prefer it because you get to take care of it and grow it. Have you ever come across the kits they sell? They have diary and non dairy versions :)
Thanks for sharing this post! You have the best hair!!

I just started taking biotin and definitely noticed a more-than-pleased-with difference!

Interesting that you take probiotics and digestive enzymes. I feel like I should try it. I have been meaning to take biotin for a while, but never get around to buying it.
Love L’Occitane’s moisturizer so much. I also use Hot Tools curling iron and have done so for years. It straightens out my crazy curls into more controlled loose waves.

Hey, Julia!
Any tips for your favorite Dry Shampoo? I don’t have very thick hair so just one day without washing makes me look kinda like an oil tanker dumped on my head. Would be great to skip a day of hair washing without having to resort to a greasy ponytail (ewww)!
Thanks!

Arcona and In Fiore are two of my favorite skin care lines!! Obviously we both go to International Orange ;)

Thanks for the recommendations! I’ll have to look into the Arcona line – I love trying new products! (Interestingly, I also posted about my skincare routine this morning!)
Really helpful post, Julia. Great minds think alike, I’m sharing my favorite makeup products today. I’ve never heard of Arcona, but you have great skin so I trust your judgement! I’ll have to try it out.

This is a great post! I love skin care, and am so diligent in taking excellent care of my face. I drink a lot of water which helps keep your skin clear. I’m definitely going to look into Arcona.

I love Josie Maran’s Argan Oil as well. I use it on my cuticles and hands every night – I will have to try it on my hair as well!
I also love Mario Badescu for the odd break out too, I love how it dries the pimple out but not the surrounding area like some other products can.
I also love Lancome’smake up remover, as it really gets all my make up off without feeling harsh and allows my skin care products to really do their job :)

Jose Maran’s argan oil is literally the best thing ever for your nails. I use it weekly and my cuticles have never been better!

I like the eye product you listed but it doesn’t say it does anything for dark circles? Do you have any suggestions for skin products to brighten the under eye area?
I agree. The less I do with my hair, the better it is. Love your selection and totally need to check out some of those as you always look gorgeous

I’m surprised you didn’t recommend the Kiehls products. I started using them recently and noticed a huge improvement with the clarity and radiance of my complexion. Great picks!

Love your make-up tips! Any suggestions for under-eye cream or brightener to cover dark circles?
Interesting that you included probiotics!
But I adore you for it.
Most people don’t realize how important they are, and I intend to write a post all about them soon on my blog.
I order mine from Swanson and they have 66 BILLION organisms. I didn’t realize mine were steeped so high! Must be why I’m so regular ;)
Do you use any product on your hair before curling it? I also let my hair hair dry then curl, but feel like I should be using something.
What kind of shampoo and conditioner do you recommend?
Please I need something for pimples and also for flat tummy….how can I get it
First of all I would like to say great blog! I had a quick
question that I’d like to ask if you do not mind.
I was curious to find out how you center yourself and clear your head prior to
writing. I have had difficulty clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas out
there. I truly do take pleasure in writing but it just seems
like the first 10 to 15 minutes are wasted
simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or hints?
Thank you!
