Spring Nail Colors

Clockwise: YSL “Rose Scabiosa”, Deborah Lippmann “Candy Shop”, NARS “Wind Dancer”, Ciaté “Access All Areas”, Deborah Lippmann “It’s Raining Men”, Bobbi Brown “Tuxedo Black”, Deborah Lippmann “Va Va Voom”, RGB “Peacock”, Deborah Lippmann “Flowers In Her Hair” , RGB “Pool”, Essie “Play Date”, Deborah Lippmann “Between The Sheets”, Tom Ford “Indian Pink”

I love getting my nails done, but I’d much rather buy a nail polish or two that I love and do an at-home mani. I always have color on my nails- the shade depending on my mood- and feel almost naked without. I thought I’d share a few of my favorite colors as well as a few new spring shades I’m excited to try out. What are some of your go-to nail polishes?

I have been wearing lilacism by Essie this week, and I love it! I usually love dark colors for winter, or a pale pink like mademoiselle by Essie as well.

Oh my I have so many since I have over 60 bottles, I summed them up here http://pinksole.com/2013/03/thirsty-thursday-get-nailed/

Love it, girl! I’m all about that soft violet Essie color! So gorgeous!

LOVE this post! I love buying new nail polish sometimes better than buying new clothes. My favorites for spring inspiration are Essie’s “Mesmerize” and “Absolutely Shore.” I think I may need to try out those Deborah Lippmann colors!

Julia, do you have any tips or products you use to keep your mani chip free? How often do you repolish?

I love all of those colors from Deborah Lipman! One of my favorite spring colors is “lilacism” from Essie. It’s a pale lilac…and it’s super pretty.

I love the Nars wind dancer – looks like the color of creamsicles, so it totally makes me think of warmer weather!

I have SOOOO many nail polishes. I almost always do my own as well. I do like getting pedicures done in the salon though.

I am already wearing a spring color right now. It is a lavender/greyish shade by American Apparel. I really like their nail polish, although I am not a fan of their clothing.

I love the light mint color you suggested. That is gorgeous!

Do you have any tips for doing an at home mani? Whenever I try my nails always end up looking like a kindergardener finger painted them (ha!).

Amanda January 23, 2014 at 8:39 pm

These are all great colors! I am starting to LOVE Sephora’s new formula X polishes. Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!

I feel naked without nail polish on my nails too! Side note: I must be ready for spring because I have baby blue on my nails now!

Loving the Tom Ford Nail Lacquer. Great fuchsia color!

mary-katherine January 24, 2014 at 1:10 am

i am the exact same way!! i love a good mani every once in a while to really fix my hands and fingers but i don’t see the point in paying so much for a mani when i could buy my own color for so much less! after years of doing my own nails and befriending a girl in my dorm whose family owns a nail salon, i have learned so many tips and tricks that people often ask me if my nails are shellac! that’s always a nice compliment :)

my all time favorites are: essie “miss matched” a light pink almost white, essie “better together” a perfect pink, opi “la paz-itively hot” a great hot pink that i wear year round, opi “lincoln park after dark” because i have a hard time going true black, this one is a great dark purple, and then more recently i tried essie “stylenomics” and it is a dark green, sometimes almost dark blue and it is fabulous if you want a dark nail!

sorry for all the recommendations, i wasn’t kidding when i said i have been doing this for years! :)
