Thomas and I go out to the Marin Headlands to shoot landscapes at least once a week and we’re always crossing our fingers for a colorful sunset, which can be tricky with the fog. We got lucky this Monday with a completely blue sky, so we knew we had our clear shot of the bridge. Thomas had been out the week before and found this awesome spot (away from tourists, hikers, bikers and other photographers) off the side of the road.
For those of you asking (from the Instagram pic I posted earlier this week) where exactly this spot is – take a steep path down from the end of the Hawk Hill parking lot and follow it until you get to the top (of the hill above). You’ll get a perfect view of the entire Golden Gate Bridge on your left and Black Sand Beach on your right. Of all the lookout points, this one has the least amount of people. Tourists always stop at the first two, which get pretty crazy crowded on the weekends, so just keep driving up a bit to Hawk Hill.
Our favorite shoots are ones spent out just exploring and having fun with the camera, no pressure and no expectations. While Gal Meets Glam is mostly about fashion, it’s exciting for us to be able to combine it with our other interests- whether that’s being outdoors, posting cafes/restaurants or activities. We love sharing more than just the outfit or look for the occasion!
So, I encourage you guys to get out this weekend and explore an area around you where you haven’t been before. Happy (almost) weekend!
