On our way out to the Cotswolds from Babington House, we mapped out a few charming villages to stop in, Bradford on Avon and Lacock. We also ended up pulling over on the side of the road a lot whenever something caught our eye. We had our Hunter boots in the back of the car ready to pull on at a moments notice if we needed to get a little muddy. Of course this ended up being the case when an afternoon storm rolled in and left everything damp, but at least we were prepared!
This spot (above and first picture below) was one of those areas that caught our eye while we were driving past Farleigh Hungerford Castle. We saw the cutest row of cottages and decided to pull over and explore. Little did we know that the path of homes led to a river that ran right up to the backside of the castle. All of the cottages had wildflowers lining their picket fences and gardens that were serious #goals.
This Kate Spade dress instantly put me in a happy spring mood with its cheerful floral print. It also has the cutest bow in the back, so next time I wear it, I’ll wear my hair up in a high pony to show it off. I switched back and forth between these bow loafers, also Kate Spade, and my good ol’ black Hunter Boots that I wore pretty much everyday in the countryside.
Lacock is a small village located in Wiltshire. While there, we strolled through the quaint streets and visited Lacock Abbey along with its gardens. The Abbey, which was actually founded by a woman named Ela in 1232 was used for a few scenes in Harry Potter. The town itself, which is incredibly picturesque, has been used for numerous films and shows including Pride & Prejudice and Downtown Abbey. I can see why because it’s picture perfect and full of that rustic charm that I love so much about the countryside.
Once we arrived to the Cotswolds, we checked into our hotel, Barnsley House. I had found it on Pinterest after pouring over photos for hours one evening and knew we had to stay there for their gardens. Unfortunately we were a little early in the season for most of them, but we did get a lot of daffodils and tulips, which were beaming in the sunshine after a bit of afternoon rain.
So it’s official, you and I share the same taste in dresses and skirts! Another gorgeous one today, thank Julie! You look beautiful and these photos are dreamy! So glad i discovered your blog!

I just love the change of shoes, seriously the biggest struggle in any rainy city once spring rolls around! I find myself going to class in the morning in sneakers and literally coming home drenched at the end of the day! Love these photos and that sweet dress.
