This past weekend my best friend flew in from San Diego to spend Easter with Thomas and me. We’d been looking forward to this trip for months and I was so excited to show her around Charleston, our new home and introduce her to our new friends. We had a wonderful low-key weekend and it’s always the best reminder that taking the time out for those you love is so important, especially when you don’t live nearby. Lately we’ve been hosting friends or family at our house almost every weekend and we’re really savoring it as they’re going to be our last for a while, as we’re *finally* moving out for renovations at the end of the week!
I wore this Joie maxi dress on Easter Sunday, but also wore it out last Friday night as well. I’ve always loved Joie for their effortless pieces, especially the extra dainty and sweet ones in the warmer months like this one, this one and this one. Last year I bought this Joie maxi dress that I wore out in Napa (and it’s now on sale over here!) that I loved. I ended up sending it out to my sister in Ireland for a wedding and never saw it again after that (if you have sisters, then you know how this goes!). She wears it all the time and it looked beautiful on her, so I’m glad she kept it, which gave me the excuse to pick up this one this season :)
I’ve also been wearing these leather woven Frye sandals a lot lately. They’re a muted yellow color that pairs really lovely with all of the basket bags I use, like this Bosom Buddy Bags one (my newest addition I found at a shop here in Charleston). J.McLaughlin also just came out with this round wicker bag that’s the same style and shape, but with some camel leather details. I think they’re so fun to pair with all of your Spring dresses.
I used to wear my hair twisted back like this all the time (like here, here, here and here), but was recently re-inspired by Belle, naturally. I received so many messages on Instagram about how to re-create this look and it’s so, so easy, I promise! I’ll work on a tutorial to get up over here soon.
