I’m always one for a fun pop of color on the lips. Whenever I see another woman with an amazing red lip, it makes me want to pull out whatever lipstick I have on me and rock it, too. Whether it be a matte lipstick, gloss, or tinted lip treatment, lip color will always brighten your face and pull your look together. I tend to rotate between several lip products each season, with much brighter and bolder shades in the summer months when my closet is brighter and bolder, too. Naturally, one of my favorite shades to wear is pink. When I wear pink on my lips, I either gravitate towards coral shades or a rosy pink shades, depending on where I am and what I’m wearing. Keep reading to find out what my 3 pink lipstick shades for summer are…

Bobbi Brown Art Stick Liquid Lip in Lily

This liquid lipstick boasts a fuller, bolder, more plump look than a lipstick and it’s also a product that will not dry out your lips, as it is a semi-matte. This “Lily” shade has a bit more of a purple/pink hue to it, with the color described as “bright violet pink”. It looks gorgeous with an all white ensemble and a fresh golden glow. I apply the liquid lip to my bottom lip and then blot my lips together to avoid applying too much at once. Just a touch of the liquid lip adds a lot of color, so the product lasts a long time as well.

Laura Mercier Velour Lovers Lip Colour in French Kiss

This is one of my favorite pink shades and probably the one I wear the most. It’s a true “pink” pink color and one that just feels like summertime. I’ve reached for it time and time again when I need a makeup pick-me-up, especially on a night out. Plus, it doesn’t dry out and the light texture makes it easy to wear all day long. A quick application does the trick, and one swipe provides long-lasting coverage.

Bobbi Brown Lip Gloss in Rosy

When I’m not going for a matte look, but am looking for a gloss with high color pay-off, I turn to Bobbi Brown Lip Gloss. This shimmery gloss in Rosy is great for daytime. I use it to add a hint of color during the day and apply more layers for a stronger color at night. It’s great for a barely there look or added shine, depending on what you are going for. I’ve loved Bobbi Brown’s lip glosses for years (I think I wore the “petal” shade almost everyday for three years straight) and love the extra glossiness that they bring to the face, especially to a minimal makeup look.

To avoid having to reapply multiple times throughout the day, look for a lip product that will give you long-lasting results. The vast amount of products available to us now, both online and in-stores can be, quite frankly, overwhelming. I’ve definitely found myself perusing around Sephora or online searching a bit too long. It can be fun looking at all the products, but I’m all about saving time. In order to be efficient in your lipstick expedition and avoid being distracted by the mass amount of options, ask yourself these three questions to help guide you in your search:

Do I want a matte, semi-matte or non-matte? This will help you determine texture.

How long do I intend to wear this lipstick throughout the day? There are fewer products that are truly long lasting.

Is moisturization and hydration a primary attribute you prefer? If so, these terms will help narrow your search.

Once you have answered these three questions, the process of searching for lipstick will be much easier. You will be able to find what you are looking for online, and if you go in-store to test the products out, you can simply tell the beauty consultant what you are looking for. I hope these products and tips help you find your best lip colors for a touch of glam all summer long.
