More often than not (or at least more often than we are at home), we’re in New York working on the Collection. It’s funny, because I used to not like NYC very much. That was, until I started spending more time there. Although most of our days are spent in an office, with lunches delivered in and dinners grabbed quickly to-go on the way back to our hotel, the fast-paced energy of the city has grown on me. It used to overwhelm and intimidate me, now I look forward to our time there, even if it’s the most intense, jam-packed days that leave us feeling exhausted. It’s the kind of exhausted that excites me and fuels me, especially when I’m surrounded by a team who feels the exact same way. Since at least half of our time is now spent there, my style evolves between Charleston and NYC. Being back in a city brings out the more pulled together professional pieces that I used to wear a lot more in SF, and I now mix them with the more feminine and relaxed pieces I wear at home in Charleston.

We were in New York a lot last fall and winter and I found myself constantly reaching for the same old pair of trousers when going into the office. If I wasn’t wearing a dress with boots, they were what I reached for, especially when the weather really started to dip. I’ve now replaced them with my new favorite pair for this season, these blush Theory city pants. I’ve always loved Theory for their classic and beautiful basics (their leather pants are my favorite with a cozy cardigan for fall), but their workwear has always been the best. Easy yet sophisticated staples make getting ready in the morning a breeze.

I styled them here with this cream Theory bow neck blouse, but as the temperatures drop over the next month, I’ll reach for some of my favorite sweaters from the brand like this perfect cream one or a longer cardigan with a simple white tee. And have you checked out more of their new fall arrivals? I currently have this blush coat on my wishlist, along with this faux fur jacket that would be on constant repeat once it gets cold.
