Around the Home

The Audrey Lamp from Lulu & Georgia stands pretty on our side table.

We recently added these colorful pillows on our ghost chairs. They really make the room pop!

I also added this pillow to my desk chair- I needed something comfy for sitting at my desk all day!

The perfect storage for nail polishes! The painting is by my sister, Lauren Taylor Creates.

We have an all-white kitchen that need a little color, so this geometric rug was the perfect addition.

Lulu & Georgia is also offering Gal Meets Glam readers 20% off your purchase until Sunday, June 23rd with code: GALMEETSGLAM20 Happy shopping for your home :)

A Summer Soiree

I’ve always described my style as classic and feminine which is reflected in both my style and at-home entertaining. I love adding bright colors and playful patterns like the beautiful citrus colors in my blazer.

A LWD (little white dress) like this one with the crochet pattern with a pop of color is my perfect look for a summer dinner party.

I chose to host a light and easy summer dinner consisting of pesto pasta served with refreshing summer wine, La Crema Pinot Gris. The fruit forward taste of La Crema Pinot Gris is the perfect summer beverage.

I planned a casual summer night in with some of my best girlfriends so that we could relax, eat good food and drink delicious wine. I want my guests to love the look of the table as well as the meal so I added whimsical and playful patterns to the table.

Wearing my new favorite Samantha Wills hoops and neutral lipstick.

Whether I’m running around town for meetings, having the girls over for drinks or heading to date night with my husband, I want my outfit to be effortless, fresh and bright. I added this bright floral blazer keep my dress from looking too casual.

I keep my warm summer nights fresh and sweet with a good wine like La Crema Pinot Gris and my favorite fruits.

I absolutely love how our art wall came out and how all our Minted art prints came together! It completely transformed our living room and is now the focal point instead of our big tv. Caitlin did such a great job and I always learn so much from her each time we meet, so I thought it would be great for her to share some tips on creating the perfect art wall:

1.  Paper First:
Don’t pound a single nail before you do a little planning. Decide which pieces you want on the wall, then make a paper template the size of the frame.

2. Mix & Match:
Cut out the shapes and experiment with various placements. This small step will save your drywall from misplaced nail holes. Once you decide on the arrangement take a picture of it.

3. Tape It Up:
Transfer the paper onto the wall in the composition that you’ve decided on.

4. Time to Commit:
Measure where the wire hangs on the painting or print and mark the paper with a pen. Take the nail and hammer it through the paper – it’s the only way you’ll get it exactly right. Once you’ve done this with each piece it’s time to ripe them down. Have fun with it – you only live once!

5. Hanging Time:
It’s time to see your vision come alive on the wall. Hang your artwork up on the nails. Refer back to the picture you took in case them got out of order.

Voila! A beautiful art wall for you to enjoy!

(Thanks again, Caitlin!)
