I absolutely love how our art wall came out and how all our Minted art prints came together! It completely transformed our living room and is now the focal point instead of our big tv. Caitlin did such a great job and I always learn so much from her each time we meet, so I thought it would be great for her to share some tips on creating the perfect art wall:
1. Paper First:
Don’t pound a single nail before you do a little planning. Decide which pieces you want on the wall, then make a paper template the size of the frame.
2. Mix & Match:
Cut out the shapes and experiment with various placements. This small step will save your drywall from misplaced nail holes. Once you decide on the arrangement take a picture of it.
3. Tape It Up:
Transfer the paper onto the wall in the composition that you’ve decided on.
4. Time to Commit:
Measure where the wire hangs on the painting or print and mark the paper with a pen. Take the nail and hammer it through the paper – it’s the only way you’ll get it exactly right. Once you’ve done this with each piece it’s time to ripe them down. Have fun with it – you only live once!
5. Hanging Time:
It’s time to see your vision come alive on the wall. Hang your artwork up on the nails. Refer back to the picture you took in case them got out of order.
Voila! A beautiful art wall for you to enjoy!
(Thanks again, Caitlin!)

One decor element that Thomas and I both knew we wanted, was an art wall. Since we couldn’t paint the walls in our new place, we wanted to add something to the bare space. When Minted asked us if we wanted to incorporate a few of their art prints, we jumped at the chance. We’ve been working with Caitlin and she’s really helped us develop a color palette that Thomas and I both love. I can easily get carried away with girly prints and pink, so it was important for both us to choose prints we loved. We went through the site together and each picked a handful of pieces and then narrowed it down from there based on our favorites and which ones went well together. We pulled colors from each print, so that overall, they are cohesive.
I have to say, it was a tough decision because Minted has so many great pieces. I was a little worried that we weren’t going to be able to mesh our different styles together, but we did and I was really impressed with Thomas’s picks! Be sure to check back on Friday because we will be debuting our finished art wall and hosting an awesome giveaway from Minted!

I couldn’t pass up these vintage stools and was thrilled when Thomas loved them as much as I did.
I’m currently on a pink kick: can’t get enough of these polka dot Keds and this striped Ralph Lauren shirt I found at TJ Maxx.
How darling is this polka dot KJP bow bracelet?!
This week flew by and I’m so glad it did. I have a few projects to work on this weekend, but looking forward to spending some time outside in the sunshine. Thomas and I have been talking about having a picnic and exploring a new neighborhood, which both sound pretty great right now. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and here are a few of my favorite finds on the internet this week:
Yet, another striped blouse I feel the need to add to my collection…oh and this citrus one too.
This “Stop and smell the roses” print is definitely ending up somewhere in our house.
I’m a sucker for anything with flamingos on it.
