Little Floral Dress

Riller & Fount Sweater (currently 25% off on Shopbop), Love Sadie Dress (currently 25% off on Shopbop), Club Monaco Belt (old, similar here), Miu Miu Sandals (less expensive version here and here), Stella McCartney Bag

First off, I want to thank you all for all of the love and sweet comments, emails, tweets and messages yesterday for Gal Meets Glam’s 3 year anniversary. It means so much to hear your feedback and words of encouragement and support! Don’t forget to enter the Nordstrom $1000 gift card giveaway by leaving a comment on yesterday’s post and enter to win one of two $500 gift cards by following me on Instagram (@juliahengel) and uploading a picture of your favorite glam look using hashtag #GMGTurns3

I think it’s safe to say that I lean towards more feminine pieces. At the same time, I try to balance them all out by adding an edgier element to juxtapose the sweetness of the look. I love pairing a simple floral dress (like this Love Sadie one for under $80!) with a studded belt or gladiator sandals or vice versa. Right now Shopbop is having 25% off site wide, so it’s a great time to pick up a few of those pieces you’ve been coveting for spring/summer! (I listed a few of my favorites here)

You can shop my look and a few other similar pieces here…

MSGM Dress, American Apparel Hat, Prada Wedges (old, similar here and here), Banana Republic Bag c/o,

3 Years! Can you believe it? I started Gal Meets Glam three years ago. Wow, how time goes by so fast. Never did I think when first starting my blog that it would turn into my full time job. Looking back, I had no idea what I was getting myself into or what the blogging world even was. But little by little, I learned and grew and kept going because I loved my little corner of the internet, even if no one was really following. People ask me all the time “How did you grow your audience?” or “How did you get so many followers?” and all I can say is patience and time. Nothing comes overnight and if people like what you’re doing, then they come back. And they tell their friends. And their friends tell their friends. It’s funny to look back and see how I’ve grown, both personally and professionally, and the direction that I’ve wanted to take my blog. When I first started, I didn’t really know what I wanted to do with, but as time passed and I grew with each new experience, I changed (as people do) and my blog did with it. Gal Meets Glam is a space of creativity, where you can come and get inspiration, dream, have fun and connect on a similar basis: a love for all things beautiful. I wanted to do a shoot for this post that embodies some of my favorite things- feminine dresses, fresh flowers, bike rides on sunny days, big hats and lots of color!

While I’m so grateful that I get to be creative and create my own path, I wouldn’t be able to do it everyday if it wasn’t for the love and support of each and every reader. So, thank you, from the bottom of my heart. You will never know how much your continued support means to me and how it keeps me motivated, inspired and driven everyday.

To celebrate three years, I’ve teamed up with Nordstrom to giveaway three gift cards to three lucky Gal Meets Glam readers!

One $1000 gift card - To enter, leave a comment below letting me know what you would buy at Nordstrom if you won.

Two $500 gift cards - To enter, follow me on Instagram (@juliahengel) and upload your most glam look using the hashtag #GMGTurns3

The giveaway ends Monday, April 21st and the winners will be selected at random and announced Tuesday, April 22st. Good luck!

What would you do with the Nordstrom gift card if you won? Splurge on an expensive bag? A handful of new spring dresses? A few pairs of some drool worthy shoes? I know I would most likely buy a new bag- that way you can wear it with as many outfits as you want. I just have such a soft spot for a beautiful new bag. Here are a few of my favorites I’d love to add to my collection…

Red & White

Pickwick & Weller Tee c/o, J.Crew Jeans, Nike Sneakers, J.Crew Scarf, Vintage Belt (similar here), J.Crew Clutch, Illesteva Sunglasses

I used to only wear my sneakers with my work out clothes, but I’ve been pairing them with everything from jeans to dresses now. They add a relaxed, low key element that I love. I wear my black and white Nike Frees all the time, so now I can switch it up with some color. With upcoming travels and a knee surgery, I have a feeling I’m going to be living in both of them for weeks.
