Blazer Theory/ Shirt StyleMint/ Pants J.Crew/ Sandals Vince/ Bag Reed Krakoff

A comfortable pair of pants that are both chic and practical are definitely a SF essential and end up being one of the first things I go to grab in the morning. I always look for something that’s cropped at the ankle because I find that it’s more flattering on my frame. I love the look of this pair of statement J.Crew pants and incorporated this season’s “Vibrant Colors” trend through these neon yellow trousers. Since the color is so bold, I paired it with neutral shades of grey, white and tan and added an extra pop with an orange Reed Krakoff bag.

MICHAEL Michael Kors Leather Jacket, Zara Sweater, Current/Elliott Jeans, Theory Sneakers, Stella McCartney Bag

People are always really surprised when they come to San Francisco because they are expecting “California” weather, aka sunny and warm. Unfortunately, this city by the bay always has a slight breeze and is a little backwards with the Spring/Summer being one of the coldest times of the year. This usually leaves people a little confused on what to wear and is a frequent question I receive.

I’ve recently teamed up with NET-A-PORTER.COM to showcase five SF Essentials that anyone living or visiting San Francisco will need! I’ll be posting a new essential each day this week that corresponds with one of NET-A-PORTER’s top trends for Spring – so be sure to check back daily!

The first essential is a leather jacket (this one is MICHAEL Michael Kors). The reason why I choose a leather jacket over any other jacket is because it’s so versatile. You can wear it to work, you can wear it out for drinks and you can wear it on the weekends and it’ll also keep you warm. You really can’t go wrong with a classic black leather jacket that pairs with practically everything in your closet. I created this look based on the “Parisian Glamour” trend, which I perceive as effortlessly cool and chic. Ripped jeans, a striped sweater, leather jacket, timelessly chic black handbag and red lipstick are always a winning combo.

I absolutely love how our art wall came out and how all our Minted art prints came together! It completely transformed our living room and is now the focal point instead of our big tv. Caitlin did such a great job and I always learn so much from her each time we meet, so I thought it would be great for her to share some tips on creating the perfect art wall:

1.  Paper First:
Don’t pound a single nail before you do a little planning. Decide which pieces you want on the wall, then make a paper template the size of the frame.

2. Mix & Match:
Cut out the shapes and experiment with various placements. This small step will save your drywall from misplaced nail holes. Once you decide on the arrangement take a picture of it.

3. Tape It Up:
Transfer the paper onto the wall in the composition that you’ve decided on.

4. Time to Commit:
Measure where the wire hangs on the painting or print and mark the paper with a pen. Take the nail and hammer it through the paper – it’s the only way you’ll get it exactly right. Once you’ve done this with each piece it’s time to ripe them down. Have fun with it – you only live once!

5. Hanging Time:
It’s time to see your vision come alive on the wall. Hang your artwork up on the nails. Refer back to the picture you took in case them got out of order.

Voila! A beautiful art wall for you to enjoy!

(Thanks again, Caitlin!)
