A Waiting Game

Faux Fur Bomber Rebecca Taylor (on sale!)/ Skirt Zara (old, similar here)/ Tee Nordstrom/ Heels Givenchy/ Sunglasses Elizabeth & James/Necklace c/o Brooklyn Designs

I’ve had my eye on this Rebecca Taylor faux fur bomber since spotting it in New York last September. When the price hit under $150 (it was originally $550) I gave it. Sometimes shopping is waiting game and it’s worth the wait. I’ll be heading back to New York for Fashion Week at the beginning of February and will be speaking on a panel at the IFB Conference on February 6th. You can view the whole line-up of speakers here and buy tickets here for the event, which is Feb 6-7. Are any of you attending the conference? Hope to see you there :)

Happy Friday!

Lipstick Shades

I have to admit that I’m somewhat of a lipstick-aholic. Whether it’s a bright shade of red or a subtle pink, I think everyone looks better (and more lively) with a little color on their lips. I know a lot of women are hesitant to wear lipstick because they don’t want to feel overdone, especially for an “everyday look”. I have found that the key to wearing lipstick during the day is to keep everything else very minimal. I keep my eye makeup very simple with just a few swipes of mascara and add a little bit of highlighter under my eyes and on my cheekbones. I’m always playing around with different shades of lipstick, but the ones above are definitely my top colors I keep going back to. I also color matched each shade of lipstick in Photoshop so I could show you guys a more accurate shade of each color.

You can also view my past favorite lipstick shades here!

Colorful Home Details

It’s funny how when you start your decorating process, you think you know exactly what you want (or at least I did!) And then you start actually decorating and things don’t necessarily turn out how you expect. I started out wanting our home to be all white, but when we started to fill our space with only white, I changed my mind. It felt too cold and boring. I want to keep a majority of our furniture in light, neutral colors and add some pops of bright colors as well. We decided on the base colors white, tan and light grey and bought this white cowhide rug but then returned it and got this one. I’m constantly sourcing inspiration on Pinterest (images above here, here and here) and am also getting help from my friend and local interior designer, Caitlin (her blog is Sacramento Street). We have some upcoming DIY projects and will be showing you guys the process of our home decorating journey!
