Colorful Home Details

It’s funny how when you start your decorating process, you think you know exactly what you want (or at least I did!) And then you start actually decorating and things don’t necessarily turn out how you expect. I started out wanting our home to be all white, but when we started to fill our space with only white, I changed my mind. It felt too cold and boring. I want to keep a majority of our furniture in light, neutral colors and add some pops of bright colors as well. We decided on the base colors white, tan and light grey and bought this white cowhide rug but then returned it and got this one. I’m constantly sourcing inspiration on Pinterest (images above here, here and here) and am also getting help from my friend and local interior designer, Caitlin (her blog is Sacramento Street). We have some upcoming DIY projects and will be showing you guys the process of our home decorating journey!

Quilted Leather Jacket

Faux Leather Jacket Forever 21 (on sale)/ Dress c/o Kelly Wearstler/ Purse Stella McCartney/ Belt gift from my mom/ Tights Target/ Heels Givenchy (similar here)/ Sunglasses Ray Ban/ Lip Balm Dior Addict Lip Glow (obsessed with this stuff!)

I spent yesterday running around to meetings and ended the day with a girls night at my girlfriends house, watching the Bachelor. I have a weakness for bad reality tv and the Bachelor is no exception. I have been wearing this Kelly Wearstler dress everywhere- to dinner with boots and during the day with flats. I threw on a belt to make it a bit more fitted to my frame (I tend to have to do that since I’m not that tall) and paired it with another great Forever 21 find.

Pink & White

Coat Forever 21/ Sweater Gap/ Jeans Goldsign/ Bag Miu Miu/ Heels B Brian Atwood/ Lipgloss Stila in “Fawn” (came in this trio)/ Nail polish Essie “Absolutely Shore”

This past weekend, Thomas and I had our friends over for dinner Saturday and spent Sunday sipping mimosas and getting hooked on Homeland. It definitely was not the most productive weekend, but I sure enjoyed being a little lazy ;) I also want to thank you for all of your helpful comments and tips on ways to stay in shape and be healthy. I’m trying to put together some goals and a plan- We’ll see how that goes!

P.S. I used this clip free curling iron to get these curls. I have naturally pin-straight hair, so this kind of curliness does not happen very often! I felt like I had naturally curly hair all weekend. (Confession: I wanted curly hair so bad when I was little, I convinced my mom to let me get a perm in the 5th grade. It didn’t turn out so well…)
