Weekend Getaway in NYC

1. 5. & 11. Wearing Awear Coat (old, similar here and here), Emerson Fry Sweater, J.Crew Booties, Kate Spade NY Bag c/o, bareMinerals Lipstick in “Live It Up” 2. Roses and champagne upon arrival 3. Researching spots for dinner in our cozy living room 4. Afternoon tea at The Pembroke Room at our hotel- such a cute spot for a glass of champagne with the girls 6. The gorgeous living room in our suite 7. Afternoon coffee and capuccino with some delicious goodies from Vegan Divas 8. We were so excited when we found out our room had a real wood burning fireplace, especially after spending a week in the freezing cold 9. The view of 23rd St. from our window looking towards Park Ave. 10. It was hard to get out of bed every morning with the huge, comfy bed 12. Valentine’s Day cupcakes from BabyCakes NYC

Once fashion week was over, my husband and I checked out of our hotel near Lincoln Center and into The Lowell- a cozy, romantic hotel on the upper east side. We arrived mid-snowstorm to a beautiful room with champagne and a real wood burning fire place and quickly decided to spend the day cuddled up inside. How could you not? It was definitely one of those “I never want to leave this place” moments. The service was exceptional and after being outside in the cold for most of the days, we couldn’t wait to get back into our big fluffy bed at night. Another favorite moment? Having high tea and delicious little treats in The Pembroke Room in the late afternoon- I felt like I was in England! It was definitely a trip to remember- a first NYC experience for us together- and we both fell in love with the city.

A huge thank you the Lowell Hotel for our amazing complimentary stay! It was beyond our expectations and I definitely hope to be back soon.

P.S. The Lowell is having a winter upgrade special where you can book a winter getaway and enjoy a complimentary room upgrade!

Midi Skirt

Club Monaco Leather Jacket, Heidi Merrick Shirt, Heidi Merrick Skirt c/o (on sale), Stuart Weitzman Boots, Ray Ban Sunglasses, Clare Vivier Bag

I’ve had this Heidi Merrick skirt for a while now, but haven’t had the chance to wear it on the blog (I actually wore it for my birthday here). I knew it was perfect for fashion week and loved the fact that I could layer thick tights and my OTK boots to keep warm, although I was still pretty cold no matter what. We took these pictures on the Highline when we had some time to kill between meetings. It’s a beautiful spot to relax and enjoy some sun- it felt almost 10 degrees warmer up there!

Here are a few other midi skirts I love…

Hanging out at the AllSaints presentation and drooling over this grey suede and shearling jacket 8. Casual cool basics at Joie 9. Getting my makeup done in the morning pre-shows by the bareMinerals team 10. & 11. A beautiful Design Darling brunch at the Gramercy Park Hotel

We flew back to San Francisco late Sunday night and I’m not gonna lie, it feels good to be home. I had an incredible time in NYC and want to thank the bareMinerals team for the opportunity to travel with them and share my experience at fashion week. You can view all of my instagram pictures with them here. These are the last of my ‘behind the scenes’ pictures from a few of the shows, events and bareMinerals suite I hosted at the Empire Hotel for my fellow bloggers. I’m bummed it’s all over, but September will be here before we know it!
