If I could live in one brand only, it might just be Red Valentino (last looks seen here and here). Every season I fall more and more in love with their playful, feminine pieces. My heart skipped a beat when I saw this dress and the peter pan collar sealed the deal. This dress just really feels like “me” and I knew I had to debut it in New York for fashion week. If the dress is too girly for you, they have a blouse or skirt version that you could mix with more casual or edgier pieces to create a whole different look.
I have never experienced such intense humidity before coming to NYC. The only way I could have my hair get through the day (especially when mixed with rain) is to braid it and put it up. Milkmaid braids are always my go-to on rainy days or a top knot, which I ended up doing for an event that evening. I also reached for two of my coolest pieces that would breathe well throughout the day, but that were also on trend and appropriate for fall. I’m loving culottes right now, my alternative to wide leg trousers. I never considered them while browsing online, but when I was in Topshop, I decided to give them a try and loved them! I’ll be wearing these all throughout fall with chunky knits and cashmere sweaters.
I wore this gorgeous Ella Moss maxi dress back over Labor Day weekend while we were in San Diego. The color is so vibrant and I love how it stands out against the light blue sky as the sun is setting. It’s one of their fall pieces and while I dressed it up for dinner at the beach, I plan on wearing it with booties for a more casual look in the city.
If you’re in the San Francisco area on Thursday, September 18th, I’ll be hosting an evening of fall fashion at the Ella Moss store from 6-8pm and would love for you to join! Come shop, enjoy some rosé and get 20% off your purchase. You can RSVP to RSVP_Fillmore@vfc.com Hope to see you there!
