A few weekends ago we spent the afternoon in Healdsburg and finally went to BarnDiva for brunch (a delicious and charming little spot that we’ve been wanting to try for months!) It was in the high 90s and we were loving every minute of it. Although I had initially tucked in my top, it seemed summer appropriate to pull it out, tie it up and show just a sliver of skin. Keeping things light and simple for hot weather is always best.

Happy 4th of July! We finally made it to Santa Barbara late last night after a long day on the road (one too many pit stops along highway 1) and an incredible shoot with Ryan Ray (can’t wait to get the pics back and show you guys!). I brought a handful of stripes including this Aritzia dress and this St. James shirt I wore earlier in the week. I love this little striped fitted mini- so different than my typical style of dress. I usually overlook anything too fitted as I always find myself having to pull it down throughout the day, but throwing an old chambray top over it made it much more relaxed and easy. Perfect for low key weekend barbecues, trips to the beach and everything in between. I hope everyone has a safe and relaxing holiday weekend!

We’re leaving town early today to meet one of my favorite photographers, Ryan Ray, for a special shoot down south. It’s become sort of a tradition now, with this as the third year in a row! (You might remember some of our other shoots here, here, here and here) We always have the best time together and Ryan and his wife Cary truly have the best energy that you just want to be around. I’ll be sharing a few sneak peeks on my instagram along with our mini trip to Santa Barbara for the holiday weekend.
I wore this look last weekend as we headed back over the GG bridge yet again. We were driving back home and saw this long line of trees lit up a glowing golden color as the sun was setting, so decided to pull over and take full advantage of the beauty. This combination is sort of a mix between summer and fall, which just proves how versatile these embroidered J.Crew shorts are.
