Water is something we all crave during the summer. For some, it means being near a body of water, whether it’s the ocean, an alpine lake, or a crystal clear swimming pool. For others, it’s the desire to drink more water and fluids, while for others, it’s the need to stay refreshed with frequent mists, cooling baths or showers. Either way, it’s essential to stay extra hydrated as the weather warms up. Drinking water is the number one thing we can do to help hydrate our bodies from the inside out. But what do we do when our hair and skin have already been exposed to too much sun? How do we help repair and replenish it? The answer: Hydrating Skincare Products.

For my skin, I start with a great deep moisturizer with added healing properties. Korres Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Cream is filled with 96% natural ingredients, including wild rose oil, a source of vitamin C, to aid in brightening and repairing fine lines.

The key is to seal in moisture with hydrating skincare products, such as a soothing mist like Ole Henriksen Pure Nurture Facial Water, which not only offers a soothing mist, but also includes provitamin B5 and a nutrient-rich botanical blend of cucumber and chamomile extracts for my really dry, sometimes sensitive skin.

For skin that’s not quite so dry, and even sometimes becomes a bit oily, Farmacy Skin Dew Mist is another spray-on, all natural mist that helps restore the skin’s natural moisture balance, creating a fresh wake-up call to the skin. Use it to set your makeup as well.

I have an arsenal of sunscreens that I go to for added sun protection, but Farmacy Green Screen offers something else besides SPF. It also includes Echinacea GreenEnvyâ„¢, which is a natural antioxidant that both protects and promotes a more even skin tone. This cream practically melts into my skin, leaving a grease-free, non-sticky clear matte finish.

When I’ve let my body tan a little more than I should have, and want to make it last without peeling later on, I apply Bobbi Brown Beach Body Lotion, which contains aloe vera plus olive, jojoba and sunflower oils, green tea and vitamin E. It also has a wonderful light tropical fragrance of sand jasmine, sea spray and mandarin.

Probably one of my all-time favorite hair products, especially during the summer months is Caviar CC Cream, a leave-in conditioner that hydrates the cuticles while protecting them from sun and heat damage, leaving my hair luxuriously lightweight and healthy. If you haven’t tried it, I highly recommend you do – you will not be disappointed.

Last, but not least is lip care. The delicate skin on lips is especially susceptible to sun damage and dehydration, causing chapped, uncomfortable lips, as well as unwanted lines around the mouth. I’ve found Drunk Elephant Lippe offers a delicious, buttery aid to my lips with an enriched blend of natural oils that deeply moisturize, hydrate, and protect. It feels wonderful worn alone or under a favorite lip shade.
