BCBG Dress (on sale), Valentino Heels via TJ Maxx (similar here), Ann Taylor Clutch, Estée Lauder Nail Polish in “Smoked Chrome”, Estée Lauder Lip Lacquer in “Ruby Glow”

I haven’t been to a formal/black tie event- especially one that required a floor length dress- since college and scrambled to find something last minute for the Helpers House of Couture Gala this past weekend. Luckily, I had my sister in town and she suggested I try on this BCBG dress. It didn’t look like much on the hanger, but when I put it on, we both knew it was perfect. The draping falls in all the right places and the slit gave a glimpse of my new sparkly heels. I found these gorgeous Valentino sandals at T.J. Maxx and squealed with excitement! I had actually ordered these heels, but ended up returning them because I loved the Valentino pair more.

I hardly ever wear eyeshadow, but since I kept my look pretty simple, I decided to go a little more dramatic with my makeup. I used this palette and this lip lacquer to achieve my look.

This dress and this dress were also contenders, but in the end, I wanted something colorful. I actually forgot how much fun it was to dress up and am hoping I get another reason to with the upcoming holiday season. Here are a few of my other favorite looks…
