If you’re following me on Instagram and Snapchat, you’ll know that we began our Italian adventure in Venice, followed by Verona and now we’re currently in Lake Garda. We’re doing a road trip with our friends (our next stop is Portofino), which has already become one of my favorite travel experiences to date. Planning the trip took a lot of effort because we all had different ideas of the cities we wanted to go to, but we ended up coming up with a great list that made sense for driving (that can easily become the most difficult part if you don’t plan ahead). I had initially wanted to go to Lake Como, because I’ve never been, but it was too far off the path that we were going. Thomas and Rose suggested Lake Garda and after doing a quick Pinterest search, I was sold. What’s even better, is that it’s even 100x more stunning in person. My snapchat (@galmeetsglam) is filled with serene videos out on the lake and boating to some of the most magical villas sitting out on islands in the middle of the lake. I can’t wait to share all of the photos!

This has definitely proved to be an ideal time of year to be traveling to Italy because it’s still low season, but we have had great weather. We’ve had sunshine and 70 degrees the entire time so far and when we got to Lake Garda, all of the flowers were in bloom. I was hoping for this scenario and packed an array of options, everything from jeans and sweaters to summer dresses and rompers. Luckily the later has been my current wardrobe, only paired with light sweaters or my denim jacket in the early morning or evening.

Before we left on our trip, I got this BCBGMAXAZRIA Romper (currently on sale) from Saks Fifth Avenue and knew it would be an ideal piece for traveling- low maintenance and a one piece look. That’s the best thing about living in dresses in the warmer months, packing becomes easy when most of your outfits are only one item. I keep my accessories in neutral shades (black, tan and cream) so I can pair them effortlessly with each look. If you’re looking for more easy travel pieces, I’ve rounded up some of my favorites from Saks.com at the end of the post but also love this little black dress, this white crochet dress and this scarf print romper.

Thomas and I started exploring around the property of our hotel, finding more and more trails leading to the prettiest lakeside spots and tree lined paths. This place is filled with so much history and no matter how many pictures we take, they still don’t do it justice. The birds are always singing and the ducks will come and join you in the pool. Stay tuned for lots more to come!
