Our last stop on our New England adventure was Boston. This was my first time to Boston and I honestly don’t know what took me so long! After a few hours in the city, I told Thomas “if NYC, London and San Francisco had a baby, it would be Boston”. It has the most charming bits of each place all wrapped up into one beautiful city. We stayed at the XV Beacon Hotel, which is in the wonderful Beacon Hill neighborhood, and spent our first day exploring the surrounding area. Sadly, we only had about 24 hours in the city, so we were only able to fit in a handful of activities, but we’ll definitely be planning a trip back soon.

The historic neighborhood of Beacon Hill is incredibly charming with its brick town homes and cobbled streets that are lined with antique shops and cafes. Thomas and I started a competition of who could find the coolest door knocker. I found some pretty great ones! Obviously I found the acorn one on Acorn St, which is the cutest spot to stop and grab a photo. We kept roaming around, zigzagging through the alleys and streets and popping into random vintage shops for art for our new place.

We had lunch at Tatte Bakery on Beacon St (we went back later that evening for our Boston meet-up which was AMAZING!), which seems to be the spot. There are six locations around the city and it was recommended countless times by readers sending in suggestions. Later that evening, Rose and her man took Thomas and I to Grotto for dinner. They had been the week prior (they flew into Boston and then met us up in Vermont) and I couldn’t get over how amazing the pumpkin risotto looked. I’m sure you can guess what I ordered that evening!

This is the second corduroy skirt I got this fall, the first being this pink one. This mini by Sezane also comes in a denim version and this plum color. When it gets cooler, I’ll wear them with tights and boots, but on this day, it was warm enough in Boston to keep bare legged. I paired it with this bow neck shirt, also from Sezane, and topped the look off with this red jacket. I’ve found a few more options online that are very similar to this look, like this black corduroy skirt under $50, this red coat and this bow blouse.
