After our short trip to Spain, we made our way to Italy for Rose’s wedding, which was the main reason we came over to Europe. We flew from Malaga to Milan and from Milan we drove to Lake Garda, one of the most wonderful places we’ve ever been. Back in the spring of 2016 we did a road trip through Italy with Rose and her (now) husband, and stopped in Lake Garda to stay at Villa Feltrinelli (you can see those old posts here, here and here). To be back there two years later, celebrating two of our favorite people, was so special. The whole drive from the airport to the Villa I could barley contain my excitement. Villa Feltrinelli is, by far, my favorite hotel I’ve ever stayed at. It’s old school elegance with the most incredible service I’ve ever experienced. Rose found us right away (she said she saw someone arriving with a lot of luggage and knew it must be us!), which meant the wedding festivities had begun!

We spent the whole weekend enjoying the magical property of Villa Feltrinelli, meeting new friends and celebrating our old ones as much as possible. It was truly the most wonderful, love-filled weekend! Right away we went up to our room, changed and headed downstairs to have lunch poolside. There were a few other guests mingling about, but for the most part, it was as quiet and peaceful as I remembered. It feels as if you’re staying in your own private villa most of the time.

The last time we visited Villa Feltrinelli and Lake Garda it was mid spring and things were just starting to bloom. Being there in peak summer was a completely different experience, with the sun much hotter, the water warmer and the flowers much, much fuller. Both seasons are equally as beautiful, but we loved getting to see it in a new light. There are rows and rows and rows of white hydrangeas lining the property that are so striking. Every morning we would open the huge windows in our room and watch the sun slowly peak over the mountains and light them all up.

I went back and forth on what to wear for the wedding but ended up choosing this gorgeous green Lela Rose dress with the most fun Alexandre Birman heels. While I don’t have any photos to share from the wedding, it was beyond beautiful, beyond romantic and filled with so much love and happiness and laughter. Rose was the most stunning bride (she just shared her wedding dress in this post), I burst into tears when I saw her for the first time in her dress. We met over four years ago and I can’t imagine not having the two of them in our lives. Even though we live in different countries, we’ve always made the effort to spend as much time together throughout the years as we possibly can, resulting in some incredible travels, stories and memories. Their wedding weekend by far tops the list now!

Our last day we spent out on the lake, heading to a spot on Mermaid’s Bay that we had visited on our last trip, Punta S.Vigilio. This day was one of my favorite travel memories of all time and I was so happy to be back! A leisurely lunch al fresco, eating fresh seafood and sipping rosé, was exactly how we wanted to end this weekend filled with so much love and happiness.
