While staying in Ravello our hotel had the ultimate list of activities to make the best of any trip to Ravello and the Amalfi coast. One of those was an excursion out in a Fiat 500 Jolly Ghia, my dream car! With wicker seats, a sunshade canopy (which wasn’t installed on this particular car) and usually made in some happy color, there’s not reason not to love it. I’m not a car person but you don’t need to be to fall in love with the Fiat Jolly. They are called Spiaggina which means beach buggy, and these cars were actually built to go to and from the beach, how cool is that!?

We were picked up by Salvatore, our driver and the owner of the Jolly that we would be spending the morning in. The happiest and most cheerful Italian man who lives just below Ravello in a town called Minori. I asked him what his favorite town in the Amalfi Coast was and of course, he said “Minori!”. Born and raised there, he knows the Amalfi Coast through and through. He also happens to own a bed & breakfast that he runs with his wife and you can also book him & his Fiat through his site here.

The town of Ravello sits high above the port towns of the Amalfi coast. To get down, the road zig zags up and down the cliff to get to Amalfi. On our way into town, we passed through the town of Atrani. Blink and you can miss it. Atrani is actually the smallest town in all of Italy. Salvatore didn’t care in the slightest that he was blocking traffic when he offered for us to park in the center of Atrani (my kind of man!). The funny thing is, no one seemed to mind. The car just looks like it belongs on the roads of the Amalfi coast. Even when we finally saw a police woman we quickly hopped back in the car to speed off as if nothing happened, but she didn’t mind, she smiled and waved.

After a pit stop in Atrani, we drove through a tunnel and made it to the town of Amalfi. The same town we had spent the last 3 days of our honeymoon (we had stayed at this hotel and loved it). I was surprised by how much I remembered. When we ended up going back into the actual town, I had memories from our trip six years ago come rushing back- little alley ways and limoncello shops that we had bought gifts from. We were both so happy to be back and explore the area through fresh eyes.

I wore one of our newest dresses from the August Gal Meets Glam Collection, the Liza. This has been a customer favorite and one of my favorite pieces from this most. It’s more casual than a lot of the other silhouettes, with a more relaxed waistline, creating a comfy shape that flatters with the midi length and slit in the middle. I wore this with some of my old leather gladiator sandals, but it’ll transition well into fall over the next few months, too.
