Today we’re launching a new series here on GMG and it’s one that our team is really excited about, Gal On A Budget. Our team is constantly searching and we’re always coming across beautiful products that catch our eye, but we get especially enthused when we find a great deal. It’s more often than not that we find a less expensive alternative to some of our favorite items, and we wanted a recurring place where we could continually share those discoveries with you. With this series, we will cover topics from fashion to home and try our best to seek out brands that are newer to us, like in today’s post. We’re starting GOAB with a small list of products we’ve received the most questions about, so it seemed like the perfect place to begin…

Our breakfast nook is easily my favorite corner in our house. It was actually a last minute addition to the plans before we started construction and I’m so happy we didn’t miss out on it. It seems to be the spot that draws everyone in and we always find ourselves back in the nook, sipping coffee, working on our computers, chatting with friends, or having dinner. It’s safe to say we use this spot a lot. I’ve shared some peeks of it on both the blog and IG, and received so many questions about the little details in the space. We also just so happened to find the perfect budget friendly alternatives to many of my favorite kitchenwares, which is why we wanted this to be our first Gal On A Budget Post. Below we’re sharing the original item along with a similar less expensive item and also showcasing some other favorite budget finds as well.

Painted Plates

I love my AERIN Ardsley Dinner Plates and use them constantly. The hand-painted floral looks so beautiful and effortless for day or night. The Yasmine Dinner Plate (Set of four, $43.99) gives me the same feeling for a little less of an investment.

Lettuce Ware Plates

I first fell in love with Lettuce Ware last summer while we were traveling. My Tory Burch Lettuce Ware collection is my go-to for setting my breakfast table. These Bordallo Pinheiro earthenware plates (Set of four, $72.00) are as low as we could find for such a beautiful example of this artistic and whimsical ceramic style.

Block Print Napkins

A little bit of block print creates a pretty and inviting table in seconds. Set a full table with this tidy blue floral print (Set of four, $22.00) or create romantic look with this La Spezia garden print (Set of four, $32.00) – I also love the matching garden tablecloth.

Scallop Plates

Scallop dinnerware is a lovely feminine addition to any table. These Savannah Dinner Plates ($12.95 per) have a beautiful yet modern shape and are budget friendly! For a fuller look at an even better price, this timeless and simple scallop place setting (16pc set, $49.99) is just so charming.

Natural Accents

I love incorporating natural elements in my tablescapes. Perfect for summer entertaining, these playful jute placemats ($5.99) are a happy addition to any table. Want a cleaner look? I love a simple woven round ($7.99)
