We’re just under two weeks away from the first day of Autumn and being in London has had me fully embrace the new season. This time of year is the best for fashion, as there are so many beautiful textures and layers and darker, richer colors that I love. Take a peek at some of my past favorite fall looks and the styles I’m loving and buying for the season ahead…

Plaid Coat

I know a patterned coat can feel hard to commit to, but take my word for it: you’ll reach for a coat in classic plaid, like this one, just as often as your solid-colored options, if not more! I already have a few in my closet, including this one I bought last year. I packed one of my plaid jackets in my suitcase for our recent trip to London, knowing it would look chic in any scenario we found ourselves in while across the pond.

Suede Boots

These are the boots I’ll be wearing with fall Gal Meets Glam Collection dresses all season long- last year I bought a similar pair from Sezane! The tall silhouette is timeless, but still makes a statement, whether you pair these boots with pants, dresses, or skirts. Also, over-the-knee boots function almost as an extra layer, so they’re perfect for extending the wearability of dresses into the colder months!

Color Of The Season

2018 is the year I’ve officially fallen in love with green. I wore it all through spring and summer, but no season suits shades of olive, sage, and evergreen more beautifully than fall. My green coat and maxi dress will certainly be reappearing in my wardrobe this season, and I can’t wait to launch some incredible green Gal Meets Glam Collection dresses over the coming months!

Chinos

Even I eventually have to tuck many of my dresses away as the weather cools down (though only for a little while in Charleston, thankfully!), and when I do, I’m thankful to have a handful of different pants styles in my closet. Chinos are such a classic option, so I’ve picked them up in a few different colors, including khaki and sage green. The latter quickly became one of my go-to pants last fall, so this year, I’m eyeing this olive green pair.

Sweaters

Every September, I start to keep my eyes peeled for cozy sweaters in rich, seasonal colors. Comfortable, warm, soft, and so easy to style or layer, I’m not sure a girl can ever have too many fall sweaters! Some of my favorites from last year were a marigold yellow Sezane sweater and an olive green boat neck in the softest cashmere. This year, I’m loving this berry sweater– I love the button details on it too.

Hunter Boots

I never travel far without my Hunter boots packed in my suitcase in the fall. When it comes to unpredictable weather or terrain, nothing beats them as far as comfort, practicality, or style go! I have Hunter boots in a few different colors and heights, but the matte navy style is the one I wear the most often–I’ve paired them with corduroys, chinos, denim, and even dresses countless times over the years.

Corduroy

Fabrics with beautiful textures add so much interest to an outfit, and in the fall, corduroy is one of my very favorites. While I certainly can’t resist pieces in my favorite dusty pink hues, corduroy often comes in rich, autumnal colors that are so much fun to wear this time of year. I’ve already picked up one new corduroy piece this season that I absolutely love, and I can’t wait to style more!
