We’re heading to London today and I was frantically packing last night, last minute as always. I find I work better under pressure, but really I just end up overpacking so I don’t regret anything. I’ve had a few people share that it already feels like autumn over there, so I pulled out my boots and coats and grabbed a few new fall pieces as well. It’s still pretty warm here in Charleston, the summer lingers until early October, sometimes later, and while I love it (I know we’ll miss these warm nights in a few months), I can’t wait for crisp mornings. I love the changing of the seasons, all of them.

Tucked away in my suitcase is this mixed look of fall textures- a corduroy mini in burgundy, a tweed blazer and camel loafers. I have so much vintage inspiration I look back on when designing dresses and these fabrics were a reoccurring love I kept going back to when creating for fall. Our August Collection has a small dose of them in the Rita and Beatrice dress, but I’m so excited to share our September dresses next week, as they’re everything I’ve always wanted in fall dresses. I’ve found a few other pieces this season that bring these textures into my wardrobe in a really easy and seamless way- this coat I can’t wait to wear all season long and I can already tell that these booties are going to be my most worn. This pink corduroy skirt reminds me of this one I got a few years ago, and I found this one and this one as well that are both under $70. And if you’re looking for more tweed or houndstooth blazers, Mango has a few similar options here and here, as well as some great coats in the same fabrics like this one and this one.
