Adding A Touch of Cozy At Home

The two biggest collections in my closet are dresses and loungewear. Together, the items in these categories carry me through the entire day! In the same way that putting on a beautiful dress makes me feel ready to take on all of the day’s tasks and adventures, changing into clothes that are luxuriously soft and comfortable reminds me that it’s time to start relaxing and unwinding. Even if I still have work to do (which, I’ll admit, is quite often), there is something sentimental to me about curling up on the couch in loungewear to work. It takes me right back to the early days of Gal Meets Glam, when I would stay up late into the night working on blog posts after a full day of college classes. Recapturing that feeling never fails to make me feel extra grateful that my all-time favorite hobby has become my career.

With colder weather right around the corner, I’ve been browsing for a few new cozy pieces to add to my collection. Along with items like a soft pink pajama set and coordinating cashmere separates (these joggers and this zip-up) that are just right for anything from movie night to working-from-the-couch nights, I’m eyeing pieces that toe the line between casual daytime clothes and loungewear, like a chunky knit sweater and extra-comfortable jeans. I know I’ll live in these pieces over the upcoming holidays, when the very best days are the ones spent relaxing at home, surrounded by family members and friends. Here are my top ten cozy must-haves for the holidays and beyond!

Cashmere Zip-Up

I’ll throw this light blue cashmere zip-up on over my pajamas on chilly mornings, but most of all, I’m looking forward to wear it with coordinating joggers for a cozy, but still put-together, look.

Cashmere Joggers

I don’t own sweatpants, so when I want to be extra comfortable, I opt for a more chic and flattering option: joggers in super-soft fabrics. This cashmere pair is fitted and polished enough to be worn in or outside of the house.

Soft Throw

A soft throw is a must-have around the house to curl up in as the weather turns cool. This ivory one is especially soft and cozy, and the right size and neutral tone to fit in any room.

Cozy Sweater

I always find reasons to pick up more cream sweaters (they’re my favorites!). In this case, my excuse is this extra cozy cream sweater that’s under $100.

Luxe Bathrobe

On brisk mornings, I reach for a warm, cozy robe as soon as I wake up. This pale blue one is lined with soft fleece, so I’ll be bundling up in it all winter long.

Satin Slippers

These pink slippers are my longtime favorites—you may remember them from this past post. Since they’re tried and true in my book, I picked up a few pairs to gift to the women in my life this holiday season. I know they’ll love them as much as I do

Pink Pajamas

I can’t resist a crisp, matching pajama set, especially because I sleep in mine year-round. This pink herringbone set with white piping is pretty enough to wear well into the day, long after breakfast is over.

Cashmere Socks

I’m taking a little hostess tip from our favorite hotels this holiday season. Instead of stocking slippers for our overnight guests, I’m planning to leave pairs of luxurious cashmere socks in the guest room as a gift for each visitor.

Comfy Jeans

When I need an outfit that falls somewhere in between loungewear and dresses, these comfortable jeans are my new go-to. The wide-leg silhouette and cropped hem make them especially fun to style in all different ways.

White Sneakers

White sneakers are a loungewear wardrobe must-have. My family loves taking long walks after dinner when we’re together for the holidays, so I know I’ll reach for this comfortable, lightweight pair again and again.
