Last month Thomas and I happened to be in NYC over my birthday weekend, which ended up being a really nice excuse to get out and see the city. I told him that all I wanted to do was walk around Central Park, go ice skating and have a delicious dinner, so that’s exactly what we did. At the time, Central Park was bursting with fall colors. All of the trees had turned golden yellow and vibrant red, making it look like a painting. It really is a sight to see. With flocks of tourists scattered about, we made our way through the busy and bustling park, soaking the best of what autumn has to offer.
I love a good faux fur and a few months ago I discovered the brand Apparis, which makes the most beautiful ones I’ve seen. The price point for the quality is exceptional and I had a hard time choosing between their gorgeous color palette. After almost getting the cream, then the green, I went in true Julia fashion and bought the pink. The coat is slightly oversized and is definitely a warm layer as we go into the winter season, which seems to be here in full force now.
Now that we spend half our time in NYC, I’m learning to embrace sneakers with just about everything. We do so much walking, even in our commute to and from work, and they just make life so much easier. This past summer I finally got my first pair of Golden Goose sneakers after buying and returning about five pairs because I could never convince myself that I could pull them off. I now love the “edgier” juxtaposition they add to my feminine style. I’ve even worn them with our GMG Collection tweed separates! The pair I bought are no longer available, but there are so many similar styles out now, like these and these, and I’m also loving the leopard in these, along with these.
