I’ve never been one to follow “style rules”…instead, I wear whatever makes me happy on any given day. That has always been my mantra, and it has resulted in some of my favorite outfits over the years, like this all-white look worn well after Labor Day, a leather jacket with a summer dress, daytime sequins, and, as you’ve almost certainly noticed if you’ve been reading Gal Meets Glam for any length of time, plenty of pink all year round. My favorite color never fails to brighten my day and make me feel like the most joyful version of myself, whether I’m wearing an all-pink look or incorporating just a touch of it into an outfit.

I love all four seasons, but especially after the holidays, I admit that winter can sometimes be the most challenging to enjoy. I spent most of my life in California and now live in Charleston, so I’m used to incredibly mild winters compared to what I know many of you experience each year. We started spending a significant amount of time in New York last winter preparing for the Gal Meets Glam Collection launch, and when entire weeks felt nothing but cold and gray, I found myself feeling a little down. This year, I’m trying to proactively set myself up for a happier winter, and collecting winter clothes in my favorite color is the first step.

I’ve purchased a few pink coats over the years, so first things first, I am making sure they find a home in our NYC apartment closet. Since I bought them for California/Charleston winters though, I’m also browsing a few new options that will be able to withstand colder temperatures and heavier snow. From quilted down puffers, to warm wool trenches, to chic faux-fur-trimmed coats, I’ve been pleasantly surprised to find that winter in New York won’t have to mean giving up pink coats till spring for the sake of warmth–there are so many options in hues ranging from soft blush to borderline-neon pink.

All that said, we are excited to have some time at home carved out on our calendars over the coming months. Unlike in New York, pink outerwear always looks right at home in Charleston, where there are pastel-hued houses on every block, and even a handful of flowers that continue to bloom through most of our mild winters. I’ve shared a handful of pink winter looks in Charleston in the past, like here, here, and here, and I’m sure you can expect to see even more this winter, featuring a few of the jackets below.
