I tend to keep Valentine’s Day celebrations simple, but since gift giving is my love language, I can rarely resist the opportunity to pick up a few special little things for Thomas, my mom, and my closest girlfriends. Too often, I get totally caught up in my daily routines before realizing that Thomas and I have gone a month without a proper date night, I haven’t texted any of my friends in days, or it’s been too long since I FaceTimed my siblings. Valentine’s Day provides the perfect reminder and opportunity to let the people in our lives know how much we appreciate them, whether that’s with gifts, quality time together, or a quick text to say “thinking about you.” Sometimes, all I do for Valentine’s Day is pick up a pretty stationery set, jot down a few things I love about each person, and then pop my “valentines” into the mailbox. I believe that thoughtfulness trumps dollars spent every single time, and especially since Valentine’s Day falls right after the holidays when gift-shopping creativity (and bank accounts) may feel a little low, many of the ideas below are under $50.

Since lots of men tend to value experience gifts over material gifts (I know Thomas certainly does), these items are mainly for the women in your life, so browse through them with moms, sisters, and best friends in mind. And if one of these items puts a smile on your face, I’m all in favor of treating yourself to a little something delightful. You are more than worth it! If you have another creative gift idea or a sweet way you love to celebrate Valentine’s Day, let me know below so we can be inspired by each other.

Bow Earrings

If you’re head over heels for the look of my favorite Oscar de la Renta bow earrings (last seen here) and have been on the lookout for a budget-friendly option, this BaubleBar version is for you. I love that they make a feminine statement that would fit right into a dressed up Valentine’s Day look, without being as literal as hearts.

Lotus Vase

I love receiving flowers for Valentine’s Day (or any day really), and these lotus-shaped vases with just a hint of soft blush offer a beautiful way to display them.

Eau De Parfum

A romantic fragrance can bring back the fondest of memories and special moments for me, which makes it a favorite gift to both share and receive.

Hand Crafted Paper Flowers

We have a beautiful large pink paper peony hanging on the wall in our home. These mini versions are a simple way to add a pretty touch to any room.
