Going into the spring season feels like a giant refresh button. The gloominess of the winter is replaced with the colorful blooms and blue skies that the new season brings. The warm air makes us want to head outside every chance we get and the sunshine is like food for my soul. I’ve felt a huge new jolt of energy as we’ve shifted from February to March, and now that April is here, I’m even more excited for the season. We get a glimpse of spring much earlier in Charleston than in other parts of the country, but we’re slowly starting to see the temps rise all over. Since we’ll all be in spring clothes soon, I rounded up some of my favorite accessories for the season today…

Going from boots in the darker colors of winter to the bright open sandals and espadrilles of spring is one of my favorite way to switch my accessories. I love a pop of color or even a sweet floral print on my footwear, which is why I bought these Alexandre Birman sandals that feel so cheerful for the season. I also found these heeled sandals in a similar shade of yellow that are under $100, as well as this coral pair for under $60.

My second favorite accessory for the spring season must come as no surprise: a wicker/rattan/straw bag. I’ve been collecting these for years and love the texture they add to a look. The natural, neutral fibers make them easy to pair with pretty much everything in your wardrobe and they are often much less expensive than their leather or canvas counterparts. There are so many brands coming out with their own versions of straw bags; it seems as though everyone has one to choose from! Here are a few of my favorites that are under $100 at Nordstrom- this one similar to mine, this striped one, this round one, this tote version and this mini backpack.

We typically still need some sort of light layer this time of year, even if it’s just for the mornings and evenings, which is why you’ll usually find me with my denim jacket. I have an old favorite by Frame (similar here), but picked up this lighter, slightly more cropped style recently that I have been wearing over everything. I also love this Topshop one, which is similar to mine, as well as this white one and this blush one.
