Going back to Mallorca for the second half of our babymoon today! (Head on over here for the first half in case you missed it) We drove about an hour from our first hotel to our second, which was a bit more north and in the Tramuntana mountains, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We stayed at Belmond La Residencia, which I discovered a few years ago and had bookmarked to visit one day. This place is magical! I knew it would be beautiful from the photos I’d seen, but they don’t even do the place justice. Since the hotel is located right next to the picturesque Spanish village Deià, the tiered terraces give you a spectacular view of the village surrounded by olive and citrus groves. And you don’t have to walk far to discover local shops and restaurants, which we did a few times during our trip to find some art and gifts to bring home.

We arrived to the hotel in the afternoon and the smell of jasmine and roses took over us the minute we stepped out of the car. The property was in full bloom, with just about every single wall covered in either bougainvillea, jasmine, hydrangeas or roses, and lemon and orange trees lining the property. We were awe struck by the beauty in juxtaposition with the cobbled streets and stone buildings. Almost every inch of the property has some sort of view, with the main focal point being the main pool with the village as a backdrop. We had breakfast on the terrace overlooking it every morning.

We only left the property a handful of times, to either walk into Deià (which took mere minutes), drive the short distance to the local beach, Cala Deià (which you can also hike to) and to do a sunset sail from Port de Sóller, another village about 20 minutes away. Most of our time at the hotel was spent lounging by the pool or on the balcony of our room in our plunge pool. Relaxation at its best! We also ate most of our meals at the hotel, only leaving to have a quick lunch in town and our final meal at a small restaurant overlooking Deià. We absolutely loved this place and can’t wait to go back some day with the baby, as there were lots of other families and kids there! Here’s a recap with all of our images from our time there…
