Wiggy Kit Dress, Nicola Bathie Earrings

I’m always on the lookout for new (and new-to-me) designers who are creating beautiful, high-quality pieces. One of the most fun parts of growing our team has been surrounding myself with women who share my love for style and design, so we’re always sharing new finds with one another. I’m constantly moved by the amount of creativity and innovation in the fashion world. Especially since launching Gal Meets Glam Collection and seeing firsthand how many people touch every single piece that goes out into the world. My deep appreciation for that creativity and dedication has only grown. I’d love to share a few of my recent favorite designer discoveries—from caftans to statement earrings. Their pieces have become both staples in my closet and great sources of inspiration to me!

Nicola Bathie

Nicola Bathie McLaughlin is a jewelry and interior designer based in San Antonio, Texas. Her jewelry designs are inspired by her travels around the world, as well as her young and energetic spirit. Her pieces strike the perfect balance between unique and timeless, and she uses so many of my favorite materials, like wicker and pearls.

Nicola Bathie Jewelry has become one of my go-to sources of memorable statement earrings. They pair so perfectly with Gal Meets Glam Collection dresses, I can rarely resist when she launches a new style! Her pieces are sold on her website as well as at some of my favorite retailers, Tuckernuck and Anthropologie.

Muzungu Sisters

Muzungu Sisters is a collection designed by longtime friends Dana and Tatiana. Originally launched as a global retail market of exclusive products ethically hand-crafted by artisans in diverse communities, the sisters shifted their focus in 2018 to high-quality, artisan-crafted pieces that they could wear themselves. Their pieces are perfectly suited for busy lives in the city, but work well with the Muzungu Sisters brand staples, like statement jackets, caftans, and woven baskets.

I have two gorgeous caftan dresses from Muzungu Sisters that I have been wearing on repeat, since they’re so comfortable for my growing bump. I love the organic cotton and linen fabrics they use, which keep even their long pieces light and airy in the summer heat. Delicate embroidery, which was ethically hand-woven by artisan communities, adorns many of their dresses, making them unlike anything else in my closet. Pair them with slides for a walk, around town, like I did here, or layer them over a swimsuit and sandals to wear to the beach, like I did here.

India Amory

When Julia Amory couldn’t find the perfect printed fabric to use for the tables at her wedding, she designed her own using an Indian block print technique. She went on to launch India Amory, a lifestyle and home goods brand centered around Indian block printed cotton.

I brought each girl attending my sister’s bachelorette party an India Amory pareo in a different print, and they were such a big hit! They are incredibly versatile, functioning as a wrap to wear over a swimsuit, a shawl to pair with a summer dress, or even an impromptu beach blanket. India Amory also makes the most beautiful robes and table linens that would make any al fresco summer dinner table extra special.
