About a month before each Gal Meets Glam Collection photoshoot, we sit down to plan the styling for each and every piece. Will the model wear her hair up or down? What type of shoes would best complement the piece and make sense for where we imagine women will wear it? Simple or statement earrings? Our list of questions goes on until ultimately, we land on the exact combinations that will help us share each dress, jumpsuit, and more in the best possible way.
We often receive questions about the accessories we use in our photoshoots, so we wanted to lift the curtain a little to share some of those products, as well as why we chose them. Since September is still a transitional month, you’ll see that many of the shoes and accessories selected work from one season to the next. Along with the time of year, we also take great care selecting the perfect backdrop. For September, we photographed many of our pieces at a beautiful private horse farm. The rolling hills, fields of horses, and idyllic stable created a polished, elegant, and timeless setting for our shoot, and inspired styling choices that carried a similar feel.
Suede Knee High Boots
One item we couldn’t wait to debut was a chic pair of boots. We chose a light tan suede pair from Sam Edelman, which were the perfect, versatile tall boots to go with so many September styles. We love the loose fit on the calves, as well as the slight block heel, elevating each look without sacrificing comfort.
We knew that we wanted to make some of our dresses feel more casual—pieces you can wear straight from work to dinner with a girlfriend. For these looks, we chose simple tan leather loafers from Franco Sarto. They paired especially well with some of our patterned dresses, like Brooke.
We are very thoughtful about choosing handbags that complement the Collection without distracting from it. This navy saffiano leather mini bag from Neely and Chloe is our current office obsession—it strikes the ideal balance between sophisticated and modern. We even tied our Ashlynn Scarf around the handle to combine two of our favorite fall accessories.
