The Accessory We’re Loving For Fall

Along with puffed sleeves and bold patterns, one 80s trend that I’ve been seeing a resurgence of this year is belts. Styles range from a classic belt worn with denim, to a statement style cinched to emphasize the waist. A belt can add a finishing touch to any outfit or give it a fresh new look. I especially love pairing belts with skirts and dresses, including many of my Gal Meets Glam Collection pieces. I recently wore a belt with the Danielle dress here and the Siena dress here. In both outfits, the wide belts I chose put a more casual, daytime spin on my maxi dresses, making them just right for our creative office.

Fall is the perfect season to experiment with classic belts—rich colors and textures pair so effortlessly with everyday pieces we’re wearing. I’ve found options I love in a wide variety of colors, from blush to dark brown and everything in between. I’m especially drawn to timeless styles with unique details, like the two-toned design of this one, the lucite buckle of this one, and the tortoise buckle of this budget-friendly option. I love wearing crisp, tailored outfits in the fall, and any of these belts would add extra polish and personality to those looks.

A few statement belts have also caught my eye, like this Johanna Ortiz tie-back belt and this sweet floral belt from LoveShackFancy. Wear them with simple, classic dresses, like the GMG Collection Celeste or Maggie, or get creative with layering prints and colors by adding a style like Adelaide. Since a bold belt can instantly take an outfit from simple to evening-worthy, having a few options on hand to choose from is a must this season.

Leopard Rickrack Belt

Leopard is one of my favorite patterns because it acts as a neutral, but adds a pop of pattern at the same time. I’ve been eyeing this calf hair leopard belt from Loeffler Randall to pair with some of my fall dresses and skirts. The rickrack shape makes it especially fun!

Leather Tie Belt

I’m loving Isabel Marant’s take on the tie belt, a huge trend I’ve been seeing this year, in a beautiful rose color. Perfect to add to a dress or blazer, this sleek piece would elevate any look.

Faux-Suede Skinny Belt

This belt has an equestrian feel, which reminds me of the beautiful horse farm where we shot some of our fall Gal Meets Glam Collection styles. It’s a great classic piece to cinch any dress or skirt.
