Last week, I shared the 5 Things I’ll Miss Most about San Francisco so this week I thought I’d share the 5 Things We Are Most Excited For With Our Move To Charleston. We start packing up our stuff next week and we will be all moved in by the end of the month.

  1. Meeting new friends- A huge draw that brought us to Charleston was how nice everyone was that we encountered. We’ve already made a few friends and we haven’t even moved there yet, so we are thrilled for what’s next.
  2. Food options- Any city that we moved to had to be a great food city, Charleston is one of our favorites. For the size that it is, we were amazed by the variety of restaurants. Keep the recommendations coming!
  3. Outdoor Space and an outdoor lifestyle- A key factor when searching for a home was having outdoor space where we wanted to spend our time. We had dreams of covered and uncovered patios, a pool and a grill for Thomas, but this was unheard of in San Francisco. Since it appears that the weather allows it most of the year in Charleston, we are excited for a more outdoor lifestyle in general. We already have talks for growing our bicycle collection, having me really take up golf and tennis and even get our own paddleboards or kayaks. Oh and we also have a huge backyard with plans for a pool and pool house!
  4. Home Projects- Now that we will be owning our own place, I’m really excited to really put our own touches on our home. In the past with renting, we’ve only been limited to decor and some paint. Thomas has dreamt nearly his whole life of creating his own kitchen and I can’t wait for a master bathroom and closet. I know it’s going to be a long process, but it will be so worth it in the end.
  5. Places to Explore- We’ve spent our whole lives on the West Coast so we are really excited to explore the South and the East Coast in general. You can fly almost anywhere in the world from Atlanta which is only a 45 minute flight from Charleston. We plan on doing lots of weekend road trips to nearby places we’ve never been.
