Girl On A Budget – Mules

I have to admit, I have a current obsession with a new trend that is really a classic – mules. No, not the animal kind, the easy-to-slip-on shoe kind. Ever since I bought these mules (featured above, by Emerson Fry) during our trip to Seattle, I’ve been wanting more. They are so easy to get on and off and come in so many different styles and colors. They go by “slip-ons”, “mules”, “slides”, etc., but whatever the name, they are a season-must have. If you’re wondering how to keep mules from slipping off, not to worry. First of all, the shoes should be made to stay on if they fit properly, so be sure to buy the right size. Second, these no-slip Foot Petals that I use in nearly all my shoes, work great with mules, giving a little extra padding and grip. And don’t forget to treat suede and nubuck mules with a protector like this one from 3M to keep them looking great.

Styling with mules is super easy since they go with nearly everything from skinny jeans to wide legged slacks to midi or mini skirts, dresses, suits, you name it. I decided to showcase a selection that fits a more modest budget. You can check out all of my selects below. Have you bought a pair of mules recently? Tweet or Snap me @GalMeetsGlam!
