A new season means once again switching up my hair care regime just a bit – maybe with a new shampoo/conditioner or by sampling a new styling product to combat changes in the weather. But there are 5 hair care tools you’ll always find me using no matter the season. These 5 haircare items are my tried and true favorites for creating hairstyles that last, including vintage curls, silky sleek strands and natural looking waves. Being extra concerned about over drying from too much blow drying and hot iron use makes me especially careful about which hair care tools touch my hair. These 5 not only have a permanent spot in my bathroom, but also in my travel bag when I’m on the road or in the air.

GHD 1 1/4″ Curling Iron

This curling iron does it all and then some! It warms up fast, curls quick and is the right size for creating perfect ‘s’ curls and waves!

T3 Blow Dryer

I use to not be into blow drying my hair at all, always opting for air drying instead. But once we moved to the South, that meant walking around with damp hair all day! (hello humidity!) So I have re-acquainted myself with my blow dryer and have never been happier! I make sure to apply heat protection (tool #4 below) and still opt to leave my hair to naturally dry on the weekends when I have the time.

GHD Flat Iron

I have really straight hair, so you may be thinking “why does she need a flat iron?” Because even really straight hair can get frizzy and need a little smoothing down now and then!

Heat Protection

I’ve mentioned this product more than once and I promise you this will not be the last, because it really really works! It protects, softens and shines even the dullest, hard-to-comb-through hair. Just spray on or add a dollop (if using the cream version) when hair is wet and comb through!

Hair Spray

Another product I used to say I would never use again is hair spray. I wore so much of it – layered on thick to the point that I think my hair actually ‘crunched’ – dancing and performing in shows when I was young. Just recently I’ve started applying small amounts to help hold my style or control fly-aways and I admit I am ‘ok’ with it now.
