Plaid is one of those patterns that is perfect for fall. I fell in love with the handmade wool blazers in different variations of plaid while visiting Ireland and was so excited to see this traditional look make it’s way back from the past this season. I plan on wearing a simple striped shirt or turtleneck with my plaid to add just a hint of men’s wear inspiration to my otherwise feminine style. I don’t have to tell you that I am a little obsessed with stripes. When my mom came to help us clean-out closets prior to our move, she laughed as we sorted through my collection of striped tees. To her, they all looked alike. To me, each one was uniquely different, hence my reluctance to part with any (though I did finally say yes to a few well-worn ones). Whether it’s a blazer, coat, shirt, skirt or scarf, try adding a plaid and stripe pattern to your autumn wardrobe. I promise you’ll feel just a bit more nostalgic and in the mood for pumpkins and apple cider.
