The summer season brings light, sheer, soft clothing designed to keep us cool and comfortable. Styles show more skin which can create some tricky dilemmas when it comes to knowing what to wear underneath them. Early last year I did this post where I highlighted some of the things I wear underneath my clothes for a more opaque and smooth fit that also eliminates unwanted straps and lines from showing. I’m bringing it back here with some new suggestions to create a flattering “no show” appearance, perfect for summer whites and those new Gal Meets Glam Collection dresses!

Nippie Covers – I wear these almost weekly, especially if my dress or top has thin or narrow straps, or a twisted or halter neck or open back. They have a ‘second skin’ feel with thin or padded gel and a sticky side that is so easy to wear. Make sure to keep the little boxes and store in the plastic molds they come with so they last longer.

Nude Thong or Underwear – I’ve found that wearing nude underwear prevents colored see-through issues, especially when wearing white, which I wear a lot in the summer. This pair and this pair are two of my favorites styles.

Soft Bra – I prefer one with barely-there comfort. I have a smaller chest, so I prefer a soft lace bra with no wire as I find it to be too uncomfortable. Some of the ones I use the most often include this nude one, and this one, this white one and these.

Strapless Bra – I don’t wear one too often, as I prefer the nippie covers I mentioned above, but if you’re looking for a great strapless bra, I love these two by Cosabella- this one and this one.

Stretch Shorts – I actually have two I prefer ā€“ these Commando ones, and these Spanx ones, both in a natural tone. They work great under fitted dresses, skirts and slacks, as well as light colored clothing. I wear them with sheer and/or fitted skirts, dresses and even wide-legged slacks that require a little more coverage and smoothing-out underneath.
