Have I mentioned here before that I have a weakness for beautiful coats? Maybe it stems from years of living in San Francisco where it’s coat season year-round, or possibly the fact that they’re sort of the seasonal sister to dresses. When you find just the right one, it should live in your closet for many years. Most of mine are classic and in solid, neutral colors- black, camel, cream, navy– so that they can seamlessly transition between outfits, but every now and then, there’s a coat with so much personality and uniqueness that I can’t pass it up! Those are more few and far between, making them much more special as well. Like this embellished Miu Miu coat I bought years and years ago while in Florence, it comes out every single year and I always look forward to an occasion to wear it. But there’s something to be said about the classic camel coat, it’s a timeless staple and will easily be the most versatile coat in your closet.
I got this CH Carolina Herrera coat many years ago and it’s still a piece I reach for year after year. A classic car coat style, it’s slightly oversized and works both with jeans and dresses. It’s simple and easy and always looks chic. While this one is no longer available online, I found a few similar styles that have the same style and colors- this one, this one, this one and this one.
A few more camel coats I love, in different styles and varying price points, include: this wool plaid one, this pea coat style, this wool trench coat style, this lighter camel double breasted coat, this longer wool coat, this cashmere trench style, and this simple wool coat. I also got Thomas the camel Barbour coat he’s wearing above a few years ago from Tuckernuck and found some similar styles here and here.
