As much as I love airy whites and light pastels, I always look forward to the richer colors that come with fall fashion. From deep blues to forest greens, the colors of my fall wardrobe remind me of the vibrant landscapes this time of year. One of my favorite fall colors, especially this season, is burgundy. Burgundy has played a starring role in my fall and winter wardrobe over the last few years, so when I was designing this year’s August Gal Meets Glam Collection, I knew I wanted to include a selection of beautiful burgundy pieces. You’ll find the color in our Antonia dress, Raina jumpsuit, Meg dress, and Tamara sweater, with even more burgundy options coming in our September launch!
Along with pieces that make an outfit, like this dreamy silk blouse and this tiered midi skirt, I like to have a variety of burgundy accessories on hand. As you can see in the photos throughout this post, I always love a classic burgundy handbag, and there are so many elegant options to choose from available right now. The color pairs perfectly with the other colors I gravitate toward in the fall, so I think they’re well worth straying from a tendency toward neutral handbag investments. I reach for my burgundy bags more than any other option in the fall! For other ways to bring a touch of burgundy into any outfit, I have my eye on these burgundy sunglasses and this classic belt.
In addition to the burgundy pieces in my wardrobe, I love filling my makeup bag with burgundy hues. I don’t paint my nails too often, or I opt for neutrals, but in the fall, there is something so romantic about a deep burgundy manicure. “Spill the Wine” from Deborah Lippmann and “Lover’s Creep” from Smith & Cult are two of my go-to shades. A burgundy lip also makes a nice change from the classic reds and bright red-orange I’ve been wearing throughout the summer. A few of my favorite burgundy lip colors are this one from Tom Ford in “Nicolas” and this one from Bobbi Brown.
Gal Meets Glam Collection Meg Dress
For the August collection, I purposely designed pieces that you could wear in warm temperatures, but that would transition well into fall. The Meg dress is the epitome of that transitional piece. As it gets cooler, I can’t wait to pair mine with a cropped jacket and tall boots.
Corduroy Mini Skirt
One of my favorite things about fall fashion is all of the different fabrics and textures. Last year, I bought a burgundy corduroy skirt for our trip to London (seen here) and I ended up wearing it all the way through winter. This Frame skirt is very similar and would look perfect paired with a t-shirt and blazer or a cream sweater.
Le Monde Beryl Loafers
I am a huge fan of Le Monde Beryl and my collection of their mules and loafers is ever-growing. I wore my pink linen loafers all summer long, so when I found this burgundy velvet pair, I was instantly smitten. They would look effortlessly luxurious paired with anything from dresses to denim.
